Not only a good bed and mattress are important for good sleeping comfort. A pillow is also very important for a good night's rest.

But how do you determine which pillow is best for you?

1) Prominent sleeping position: your sleeping position determines which support the pillow should give to your head and neck.

2) Mattress comfort: the firmness of the mattress is important for the height and the pillow's properties of support. If you sleep on a soft mattress, your head will sink more into it when sleeping on a firm mattress. Therefore, in the first case, you need a thinner pillow for good support.

3) Width of the shoulders: to determine the correct size of the pillow, it is important to measure the width of the shoulders. Stand up  while measuring and let your arms hang relaxed next to your body. The width of the shoulders is the distance between the shoulders including the curve of the back. The tape measure may not be pulled tight.

4) Distance between head and wall: in order to determine the correct height of the pillow when lying on your back, it is important to measure how the head fits the spinal column. Stand with your back against the wall with your head in a natural position. Then measure the shortest distance between the back of your head and the wall.
